Delta is one of the 83 counties in the state of Michigan. It was created in 1843 from part of Mackinac county and part of a non-county jurisdiction in the Upper Peninsula. As of the 2010 census, the population was 37,069. The county seat is Escambia. The county has 1,991 square miles in area, of which 1,171 square miles is land.
