Dimmit is one of the 254 counties in the state of Texas. It was created in 1858 from parts of Bexar, Maverick, Uvalde, and Webb counties. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,996. The county seat is Carrizo Springs. The county has 1,334 square miles of area.
