Highland is one of the 88 counties in the state of Ohio. It was created in 1805 from parts of Adams, Clermont, and Ross counties. As of the 2010 census, the population was 43,589. The county seat is Hillsboro. The county has 558 square miles in area, of which 553 square miles is land.
