Keweenaw County is a county in the Upper Peninsula of the State of Michigan. It is part of the Houghton, Michigan, Micropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,156, making it the least populous county in Michigan. However, due to the area of Lake Superior, it is the largest in size east of the Mississippi River.
