Kings is one of the 58 counties in the state of California. It was created in 1893 from part of Tulare county. As of the 2010 census the population was 152,982, up from 129,461 in 2000. The county seat and largest city is Hanford.
It covers 1,391.49 square miles (3,603.9 km2), of which 1,390.99 square miles (3,602.6 km2) is land. Kings borders Fresno County to the northwest and north, Tulare County to the east, Kern County to the south, San Luis Obispo County to the southwest, Monterey County to the west.
