Nevada is one of the 75 counties in the state of Arkansas. It was created in 1871 from parts of Columbia, Hempstead, and Ouachita counties. As of the 2010 census, the population was 8,997. The county seat is Prescott.
The county's name comes from the fact that its shape, when turned upside-down, resembles Nevada, which had became a state seven years before this county was created.
