Orange is one of the 58 counties in the state of California. It was created in 1889 from part of Los Angeles county. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,010,232, up from 2,846,289 in 2000. The county seat is Santa Ana, and the largest city by population is Anaheim.

Orange County measures 947.98 square miles (2,455.3 km2), of which 789.40 square miles (2,044.5 km2) is dry land. It is bordered on the north by Los Angeles County, the northeast by San Bernardino County, on the east by Riverside County, on the southeast by San Diego County and on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean.
