Red River is one of the 64 parishes of the state of Louisiana. It was formed in 1871 from parts of Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, and Natchitoches parishes. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,091. The parish seat is Coushatta. The parish encompasses 402 square miles.
